Privacy Policy

Nudge ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Nudge invoice reminder application. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

• Account data: Your email address, business name, and hashed password when you create an account.
• Invoice data: Invoice details, customer names, email addresses, and phone numbers you enter into the app.
• Billing data: Subscription status, Stripe customer IDs, SMS credit usage totals, segment counts, reservation and accounting state, and purchased-credit transaction records, purchase/refund/reversal/dispute accounting, and relevant Stripe transaction/reference identifiers when applicable. For eligible Android purchases initiated through Google Play's external content links program, we also retain and report the transaction information required by Google Play, such as price, tax, currency, transaction time, opaque external transaction identifiers, and the eligible U.S. region code. We do not send invoice content, customer contact data, or reminder/message content in those Google Play transaction reports. We do not store full card numbers - payments are handled by Stripe.
• Usage data: Basic server logs for debugging and security purposes, plus first-party product activity such as signup, campaign attribution, QuickBooks connection, invoice monitoring, reminder delivery, payment-after-reminder detection, and subscription milestones. We also use HeyCatch for product analytics, which may process page/session and interaction events, IP address, device/browser data, and pseudonymous or internal identifiers. Nudge configures HeyCatch to mask autocaptured element text and attributes and does not intentionally send customer names, customer contact details, invoice content, payment details, message contents, credentials, or authentication/capability tokens to HeyCatch.

This operational and billing data is used to provide, secure, meter, reconcile, and support the service, including preventing duplicate charging or sending and reconciling provider delivery. Narrow billing, accounting, fraud-prevention, or legal records may be retained after application data deletion where required by law or legitimate legal obligations. This data supports the SMS-credit purchase and reversal lifecycle when that feature is enabled; Nudge does not store full card numbers, which remain handled by Stripe.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide the invoice reminder service — sending emails and SMS to your customers on your behalf.
• To manage your subscription and process payments via Stripe.
• To send you transactional emails such as password resets.
• We do not sell your data to third parties.

SMS Messaging

When contractors use Nudge to send SMS payment reminders to their customers, we collect and store customer phone numbers entered by the contractor. These phone numbers and SMS opt-in data are used solely to deliver invoice payment reminders on behalf of the contractor.

Mobile opt-in data and customer phone numbers will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Customers may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP or contact us at support@nudgepay.app.

Cookies and Local Storage

Nudge uses browser local storage and a secure session cookie to maintain your login session and app preferences. Our public website and app may also load Google Analytics (G-6V1DE4J5P4), Google Ads conversion/measurement tags (AW-8485159115), and HeyCatch product analytics. HeyCatch is configured to persist its pseudonymous analytics identifier in local storage rather than a HeyCatch cookie, honor supported browser Do Not Track signals, mask autocaptured text and element attributes, and remove sensitive URL/query and property data before events are sent. These analytics and advertising-related measurement technologies are separate from the authentication cookie and are not used by Nudge to sell customer information. You can manage or clear browser storage and cookies through your browser settings; clearing the session cookie will log you out.

Third-Party Services

• Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Google Play — Android app distribution and, for eligible U.S. external-content-link purchases, eligibility/token services and required external transaction reporting. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Resend — email delivery. Subject to Resend's Privacy Policy.
• Twilio — SMS delivery. Subject to Twilio's Privacy Policy.
• Intuit / QuickBooks — optional accounting integration. Subject to Intuit's Privacy Statement.
• HeyCatch — product analytics and growth insights. Nudge sends privacy-reduced interaction/session data and a small set of non-sensitive business milestones; HeyCatch may use its listed subprocessors to provide analytics and AI-assisted insights. Subject to HeyCatch's Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum.

QuickBooks Integration

If you choose to connect your QuickBooks Online account to Nudge, we access your QuickBooks data through Intuit's authorized API using OAuth 2.0. Specifically, we access:

• Customer data: Customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, and QuickBooks customer identifiers, used to populate and maintain your Nudge customer list and apply contact/consent rules.
• Invoice data: QuickBooks invoice identifiers and numbers, outstanding amounts or balances, relevant invoice dates such as due and transaction dates, payment/open status, and the associated customer, used to import and reconcile invoices so you can send payment reminders.
• Integration metadata: The connected QuickBooks company/account identifier and synchronization metadata needed to keep imported information current and isolate records to the correct QuickBooks company.

We do not access other QuickBooks categories such as banking, payroll, or tax data. Data already imported into Nudge remains in your Nudge account until you delete it or your account. Disconnecting in Settings stops future Nudge sync and removes its local QuickBooks access credentials. Nudge also attempts to revoke authorization at Intuit, but provider-side revocation may not complete if Intuit is unavailable; you can remove Nudge from your Intuit connected-app settings as well.

Data Retention

Your application data is retained while your account remains active. Canceling a subscription or losing paid access does not delete your account. When you explicitly delete your account from Settings, Nudge removes account and application data from active systems; failed invoice-attachment cleanup is queued for retry when possible and may require further follow-up. Previously created encrypted whole-database backups can temporarily contain deleted records until those snapshots rotate out under the backup-retention policy. Narrow records may also be retained where genuinely required for legal or compliance purposes. For connected QuickBooks accounts, Nudge removes stored local OAuth credentials even if its best-effort Intuit revocation request fails.

Security

Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We take reasonable precautions to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure.

Your Rights

You may request a copy of your data or deletion of your account by emailing us or using the in-app account deletion feature. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to request deletion. We do not sell your personal information.

Children's Privacy

Nudge is intended for use by contractors and business owners aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
